Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour substitute with bread flour for chewier texture
  • 1 teaspoon Salt enhances flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar can substitute with honey
  • 2 teaspoons Instant Yeast use double fresh yeast as a substitute
  • 1 cup Warm Milk around 110°F (43°C)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted) can substitute with margarine
  • 1 Large Egg no substitute recommended

For the Filling

  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend) substitute with any preferred cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) can substitute with garlic powder (1/4 teaspoon)
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (softened) can use olive oil for lighter option
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (chopped) omit if unavailable
  • Salt and Pepper season to taste

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese substitute with Pecorino Romano for sharper taste
  • Fresh Parsley (for garnish) optional decorative touch

Preparation Steps

  • In a mixing bowl, blend together the all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and large egg.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 1 hour.
  • In a separate bowl, mix shredded cheese, minced garlic, softened butter, chopped parsley, and season with salt and pepper.
  • After the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).
  • Spread the cheese and garlic mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side, pinch to seal, and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place cut pieces into a greased muffin tin with cut side facing up and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Brush tops of each cruffin with melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Let the cruffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
