Ingredients
  

For the Dressing

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Yellow mustard can be used in a pinch.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce for a gluten-free alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Fresh lemon juice preferred.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Pecorino Romano can be substituted.
  • 1 clove Garlic Freshly minced or garlic powder.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential seasoning.

For the Chicken

  • 2 cutlets Chicken Cutlets Chicken thighs can be substituted.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Rice flour for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs Regular breadcrumbs can be used, but won't be as crunchy.
  • 2 Eggs Do not substitute for best results.

For the Freshness

  • 1 head Romaine Lettuce Any leafy greens can be used.

For the Sandwich

  • 2 pieces French Baguettes Ciabatta or sourdough can be used.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Parmesan, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until creamy and smooth. Set aside some dressing for drizzling later!
  • Toss the romaine lettuce with 4-5 tablespoons of the prepared Caesar dressing until evenly coated. Refrigerate to keep it crisp.
  • Pound the chicken cutlets between two sheets of plastic wrap to even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Set up a breading station with one dish for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for panko breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and herbs.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until temperature reaches 175-180°C (350-360°F). Test with breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the chicken cutlets for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F). Use tongs to flip gently.
  • Slice the French baguettes lengthwise. Spread Caesar dressing inside, add crispy chicken cutlets, top with dressed romaine, and close the sandwich. Serve immediately!

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan on top of the sandwich before serving.
