Preparation Steps

  • Season the boneless chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook them in a skillet over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked. Shred the chicken once it’s cooled slightly.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside when it's al dente.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until combined, and gradually whisk in milk. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Gradually add the cheddar and mozzarella cheese to your sauce, stirring until fully melted and smooth. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and BBQ sauce with the cheese sauce. Stir until everything is evenly coated and deliciously combined.
  • Transfer your BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese to a serving dish. Garnish with a drizzle of extra BBQ sauce or fresh herbs, if desired, and enjoy it while it’s hot!

Notes
