Instructions

How to Make Savory Muffuletta Pizza

  • In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • While the dough is rising, chop the green and black olives, and slice the pepperoncini. Get your cured meats and cheeses ready.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet inside to heat.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough to release excess air, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle or rectangle.
  • Spread a generous layer of marinara sauce over the shaped dough. Layer the salami, ham, olives, mozzarella, provolone, and pepperoncini, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Carefully transfer the assembled pizza to the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Let the pizza cool for a few minutes. Then, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, slice into wedges, and serve warm.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle with olive oil for added richness before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
