  • 8 oz Dried Pasta Noodles Spaghetti or penne
  • 3 tbsp Butter Swap with olive oil for a lighter option

How to Make Garlic Butter Noodles

  • Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the dried pasta noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  • Just before draining the pasta, make sure to reserve about 3/4 cup of the starchy pasta cooking water—this will help create the sauce later.
  • In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic and gently sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, taking care not to let it brown.
  • After draining the pasta, add it directly to the skillet. Toss everything together using kitchen tongs, ensuring the noodles are well coated in the buttery garlic mixture.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese slowly, adding a few spoonfuls of the reserved pasta water as needed to achieve a glossy and well-coated consistency. Finish with another tablespoon of butter, mixing until everything melds perfectly.
  • Taste and season with salt and ground black pepper to your preference. Serve the garlic butter noodles immediately, garnished with more Parmesan and chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For a zesty kick, squeeze a little lemon juice before serving. Save more pasta cooking water than needed for perfect sauce consistency.
