Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl; set aside.
  • Beat the large eggs, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a separate bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. Then, mix in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and whole milk.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually. Add red food coloring until you achieve your desired pink shade.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Dust a clean kitchen towel with powdered sugar. Flip the baked cake onto the towel, peel off the parchment paper, and roll the cake while it's still hot.
  • For the filling, whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Then, add heavy cream and whip until fluffy.
  • Unroll the cooled cake gently, spread the creamy filling evenly, and then re-roll it carefully.
  • Place the seam-side down on a platter and refrigerate for at least one hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with fresh berries or whipped cream for an elegant touch.
