For the Pecan Filling

  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup Maple syrup or agave syrup can be used for variation.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Coconut or date sugar can be used as substitutes.
  • 2 large Large Eggs Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans Pecan halves can also be used for garnish.

Instructions
 

Prep

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie pan or square baking dish.
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until fully melted.
  • Incorporate granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and shines.
  • Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom.

Filling

  • Whisk together the light corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and a pinch of salt until well mixed.
  • Carefully pour the pecan filling over the brownie layer, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until set.
  • Cool the pie at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
