  • 2 breasts boneless, skinless chicken substitute with chicken thighs for juicier flavor
  • 1 cup buttermilk a milk and vinegar mix works as a substitute
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour use gluten-free flour for a healthier alternative
  • 1 tsp garlic powder feel free to swap in fresh garlic for a more vibrant taste
  • 1 tsp onion powder optional for a milder flavor
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked paprika gives a deeper flavor
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper provides mild heat and seasoning
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs traditional breadcrumbs will work but won't be as crisp

  • Begin by slicing the chicken breasts into strips. Season them well with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper for a flavor boost.
  • Create your dredging station by placing flour, buttermilk, and panko breadcrumbs in three separate shallow dishes to keep the process organized.
  • Dip each seasoned chicken strip first in the flour, then in buttermilk, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs for a nice, even coating.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmeringly hot. Fry the chicken strips in batches for 5-7 minutes until they're golden brown and crispy. Drain them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  • In a separate pan, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Once cooked, remove from heat and crumble into pieces.
  • Lay a tortilla flat and spread ranch dressing over it. Layer with fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, bacon bits, and those irresistible crispy chicken strips.
