  • 1 head Cauliflower cut into 1-inch thick steaks
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder substitute with fresh minced garlic if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika can be used for more flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt sea or kosher salt recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground for best taste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano optional, Italian seasoning can be an alternative

For the Cheesy Topping

  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese can substitute with cheddar or gouda
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese consider using Pecorino Romano
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley for garnish, can substitute with cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional for spice

How to Make Crispy Cheesy Cauliflower Steaks

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) for roasting.
  • Remove leaves from cauliflower and slice into 1-inch thick steaks.
  • Place steaks on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between them.
  • Brush both sides with olive oil for crispiness.
  • Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and oregano in a small bowl and sprinkle over the steaks.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Top each steak with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  • Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Serve warm as a side dish or main course.

Notes

Optional: Top with sautéed mushrooms for an extra earthiness. Prepare seasoning and slice cauliflower ahead of time for quicker meal prep.
