Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips can substitute dark or white chocolate, or use nuts

Instructions
 

Making Cookies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips (and any nuts, if using).
  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space in between. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool before serving.
