Ingredients
  

Pastry

  • 1 package Puff Pastry ensure it's fully thawed for easy handling

Filling

  • 8 slices Sliced Ham can substitute with turkey or chicken
  • 4 sticks Cheese Sticks (Mozzarella, Cheddar, or Swiss) feel free to experiment with cheese types

Egg Wash

  • 1 large Egg essential for a golden-brown finish
  • 1 tablespoon Water mix with egg for egg wash

Seasoning

  • to taste Salt and Pepper
  • optional Dried Herbs (Oregano or Thyme) for extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles, about 3x4 inches.
  • Layer a slice of ham and a cheese stick on one half of each pastry rectangle. Fold the pastry over and press the edges to seal.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make the egg wash.
  • Brush the assembled sticks with the egg wash using a pastry brush.
  • Arrange the sticks on a parchment-lined baking tray and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving, optionally with a dipping sauce.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle some dried herbs on top before baking. These sticks can be frozen before baking; add a few extra minutes to bake from frozen.
