  • 2 cups Honey Crisp Apples Diced; Granny Smith can be used for tartness
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Enhances sweetness
  • 1 cup Steel Cut Oats Avoid quick oats
  • 4 cups Water or Almond Milk Almond milk preferred
  • 1 cup 100% Apple Juice Or use water for lighter flavor
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans Can substitute walnuts or leave out
  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend Optional

How to Make Instant Pot Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

  • Set the Instant Pot to the SAUTE function and add unsalted butter. Let it melt until bubbly.
  • Add diced Honey Crisp apples, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender.
  • Spritz the pot’s liner with oil or additional butter.
  • Add steel cut oats, water (or almond milk), apple juice, and sautéed apples. Stir to combine.
  • Secure the lid and set to cook on manual high heat for 10 minutes. Do a quick release of pressure.
  • Open the lid and stir. Mix in chopped pecans and additional cinnamon or maple syrup if desired.
  • Ladle into bowls, top with reserved apples, and add a drizzle of milk if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
