How to Make Jaggery Cream Cheese Hand Pies

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with jaggery until smooth, then mix in the egg yolk and vanilla.
  • Unroll the refrigerated pie crusts and cut out 4-inch circles.
  • On one half of each circle, spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling and top with 1 teaspoon of jaggery.
  • Brush the edges with beaten egg, fold over, and crimp sealing the edges.
  • Place on lined baking sheets, brush tops with beaten egg, and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
