Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 500 grams Ground Chicken Mince May substitute with ground extra firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • 4 pieces Spring Onions Can substitute with green onions.
  • 200 grams Shiitake Mushrooms Can be replaced with button mushrooms.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic is preferable.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Minced ginger from the jar can be used.
  • 3 tablespoons Light Soy Sauce Tamari can be used for gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar White wine vinegar can be a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil Can be replaced with canola oil if allergic.
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar Optional; can use honey or agave syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper White pepper can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon MSG Optional; can be omitted.
  • Dumpling Wrappers Use either round or square based on preference.

Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons Tahini Can substitute with peanut butter.
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar Can be omitted for a low-sugar option.
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice Lemon juice may be used instead.
  • 1 tablespoon Chilli Oil Omit for a milder dish.
  • 2 tablespoons Chives Green onions can be an alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds Omit if allergic.

Steaming

  • 1 cup Water

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, spring onions, shiitake mushrooms, minced garlic, minced ginger, light soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and optional MSG. Stir until well blended and fragrant.
  • In a 7"x9", 3" deep dish, add a third of the meat mixture evenly across the bottom. Lay down dumpling wrappers, then repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with wrappers on top. Pour 75ml of water over the dish.
  • Place the dish in a steaming basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 17 minutes, or until the dumpling wrappers are dimpled and cooked through.
  • While steaming, in a bowl, mix tahini, sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, and minced garlic until smooth and well combined.
  • After steaming, carefully remove the dish—watch out for steam! Drizzle the sauce over the lasagna and garnish with fresh chives and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Optional: Add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for an extra kick!
