  • Preheat the Oven: Start by setting your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, softened butter, and salt. Mix until crumbly, about 2-3 minutes. Firmly press into the bottom of the pan and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together light corn syrup, packed brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Assemble and Bake: Pour the prepared filling over the baked crust and bake for another 20-25 minutes or until set and slightly puffy.
  • Cut and Serve: Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 15-20 minutes. Lift out using parchment paper, slice into squares, and enjoy!
