How to Make Black Velvet Cake

  • In another bowl, mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully blended.
  • Gradually combine the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed.
  • Pour the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Let the cakes cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks.
  • Beat together cream cheese and unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
