Ingredients
  

For the Panna Cotta

  • 2 cups Eggnog Non-alcoholic is perfect for kids.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Coconut cream can be a dairy-free substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Can substitute with honey or agave syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Opt for pure vanilla for authenticity.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg Freshly grated enhances aroma.
  • 1 tablespoon Gelatin Powder Agar-agar can be used for a vegetarian option.
  • 1/4 cup Cold Water Ice-cold gives the best results.

For the Nutmeg Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Dairy-free alternative can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar Can reduce or omit for less sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg Sprinkle more on top for added flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Keep it pure for best results.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes somewhat gelatinous.
  • In a saucepan, gently heat the eggnog, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg until the mixture is warm (but not boiling). Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until it’s fully dissolved.
  • Carefully pour the pudding-like mixture into your serving cups or molds. Allow it to cool to room temperature before covering and refrigerating for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until set.
  • In a mixing bowl, whip together the heavy cream, powdered sugar, ground nutmeg, and vanilla until soft peaks form, creating a light and fluffy topping.
  • If using molds, gently invert the panna cotta onto plates; if in cups, serve directly. Top generously with the nutmeg whipped cream, and add a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg for an extra festive touch.

Notes

Serve in festive glasses and consider adding a splash of bourbon for an adult twist. Can be garnished with holiday sprinkles for a fun flair.
