Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 2 cans Cinnamon Rolls approx. 20 oz / 570g total
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted

For the Custard

  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 3 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans or walnuts

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x12 inch casserole dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and whisk in the sugar until combined. Beat in the eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Slice the cinnamon rolls into quarters and toss them in the custard mixture. Arrange them in the casserole dish, drizzling any leftover custard on top.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the casserole.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • Drizzle icing over the casserole before serving and enjoy warm.

Notes

This recipe can be prepared the night before to save time on brunch day. Just add the pecans right before baking for extra crunch.
