For the Casserole

  • 1 lb Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup or homemade sauce
  • 1/2 cup Milk use plant-based milk for dairy-free
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder fresh onions can be used
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Corn canned or frozen
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1 bag Frozen Tater Tots or fresh potato slices

Instructions
 

How to Make Cowboy Casserole

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper with the browned beef, stirring until well mixed.
  • Layer the beef mixture in a greased baking dish. Start with the beef, add the drained corn, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Arrange an even layer of frozen tater tots on top of the cheese.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown.
  • Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with fresh herbs for added flavor.
