  • 1 cup Fresh raspberries Can use other berries for a different twist.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Substitute with maple syrup for a vegan version.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Essential for glaze.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest Critical for overall flavor.

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Essential for the right texture in glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon Rose water Vital for aromatic finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease and flour your madeleine pans.
  • Whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder in a medium bowl.
  • Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Fold in the rose water and honey gently.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently add the fresh raspberries and lemon zest into the batter.
  • Spoon the batter into the madeleine molds, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers spring back when touched.
  • Cool slightly in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with the remaining rose water until smooth.
  • Drizzle or dip the cooled madeleines in the glaze.

Notes

Dust with additional powdered sugar for an elegant presentation.
