  • 1 cup Natural Peanut Butter Can substitute with almond butter
  • 1/2 cup Honey or Maple Syrup Use syrup for a vegan option
  • 2 cups Rolled Oats Quick oats or gluten-free oats can be used
  • 1/2 cup Protein Powder Optional for added protein
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt

For the Topping

  • 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips Semi-sweet can be used as a substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil Optional for smoother chocolate

Preparation Steps

  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the natural peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in rolled oats, protein powder, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  • Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Press the peanut butter mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish to form a compact layer.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second bursts until melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the pressed peanut butter mixture and spread evenly.
  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to set.
  • Lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper edges and cut into squares.

Notes

For an extra chocolate fix, drizzle melted chocolate on top before serving.
